So, I started writing this blog for two reasons. The first one is that I'm frequently amazed at how lost so many people are when it comes to the basic skills of life. I don't believe in the whole "ignorance is bliss" thing. Ignorance is expensive and time consuming! I grew up in a house with two intelligent parents. My mom had very little education, but she has a sharp mind full of practical and creative solutions to pretty much anything and everything. Fortunately for me, I inherited this trait and I would like to share it with all of you who can appreciate such things. The second reason is that we live in the information age. There is wonderful, free information everywhere for us to learn about pretty much anything. This blog is my contribution to the information community universe.
This blog is intended for all types of readers. I try to keep it pretty clean and I try to keep it as gender neutral as is practical. Obviously, some topics are going to pertain more to one group than another, so just read what you're interested in.
Everything on this blog is mine unless otherwise credited. I've learned a lot of things through living, asking questions, paying attention to how other people do things, Wikipedia, Google searches, and YouTube. Anyone else who has the same or similar ideas, methods, or information is purely coincidental. It's a big world out there and a lot of people come up with the same things. I'm not going to bother to try to track down where exactly I heard or read about something the first time if I consider it common knowledge. I may link to other sources if I'm getting my information from somewhere else and I feel you're just better off browsing for more information on your own.
Please enjoy my blog for all it's worth. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to speak up. I would love some constructive feedback and maybe even requests. *Please comment using real words. I'm sure you've noticed that I respect my readers (and myself) enough to write things out as opposed to "text speak" (I even typically spell check or proof read). You have a keyboard and plenty of space. Use it.*
